The principle of dot matrix screen is mainly to display images, text or animation by controlling the light-emitting diode (LED) on and off. The basic working mode of this display technology includes the following key points:
Structural composition: The dot matrix screen is composed of multiple small LED dot matrix modules, which are further composed of unit boards and finally constitute the entire display screen. Each LED dot matrix is usually located at the intersection of row lines and column lines, and is turned on or off by controlling the level state of specific rows and columns.
Display principle: It works through dynamic scanning drive mode, that is, scanning the LED dot matrix row by row or column by column, and using the visual pause effect of the human eye to quickly refresh the screen to form a continuous image display. For example, in an 8x8 dot matrix, by controlling the level state of the row and column lines, a specific LED dot matrix can be turned on or off to form the desired pattern or text.
Visual persistence effect: In practical applications, by scanning rows and columns at high speed, the screen can continuously display dynamic images or text. For example, in an 8x8 dot matrix screen, multiple signals need to be input per second to achieve continuous display.
