TFT Thin Film LCD Screen Principle

Leave a message

The working principle of LCD screen is mainly based on the physical properties of liquid crystal and the effect of electric field. LCD screen consists of two parallel plates with liquid crystal material in the middle. When the light beam passes through the liquid crystal layer, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules affects the passage of light. In the natural state, the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules may cause the light to be blocked or distorted. However, when voltage is applied to the liquid crystal layer, the generated electric field changes the arrangement of liquid crystal molecules, which in turn affects the passage and distortion of light, thereby controlling the transmittance and direction of light.

In addition, LCD screens usually also include color filters for generating color images. By combining the three sub-pixels of red, green and blue and adjusting the brightness of each sub-pixel, various colors can be mixed. In this way, countless pixels are neatly arranged to form the image we see on the screen.

The advantages of LCD screens include low power consumption, small size and low radiation. These characteristics make LCD screens widely used in televisions, computer screens and other electronic devices.
