2.42 Inch OLED Displays

The 2.42-inch OLED display is a monochrome PMOLED (Passive Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode) module featuring 128×64 pixel resolution and a built-in SSD1309 controller IC. Unlike traditional LCDs, OLED technology is self-emissive-each pixel generates its own light without any backlight. This fundamental design difference enables superior contrast, true black levels, ultra-wide viewing angles, and significantly lower power consumption in typical usage scenarios.

Direct sunlight: OLED achieves excellent readability at standard brightness because true black background eliminates backlight washout. LCD requires >500 cd/m² to compete, which drastically increases power consumption.
Night / dark environments: True black reduces eye strain and preserves night vision-critical for automotive dashboards and medical monitors.
Wide viewing angles: The 170° viewing angle ensures consistent image quality even when the display is mounted at an angle or viewed from the side .
